After closing out 2024 by supporting more than 60 companies and 30 artists at international events in eight countries, Sounds from Spain is planning for Spanish music to participate in eleven major events for 2025.
The platform will be present at eleven festivals and conferences in the United States, Canada, Colombia, Mexico, Germany, Portugal, Finland, and Chile, as detailed below:
MEXICO | FIMGDL | GUADALAJARA, Mexico, February 22–March 2, 2025.
The International Music Fair (FIMGDL) is the most important professional gathering in Mexico and one of the most relevant in Latin America, bringing together the main players in the music industry (artists, managers, concert promoters, booking agencies, media, festivals, public relations, record labels, music publishers and concert halls) with the purpose of having a proactive dialogue on new challenges, problems and directions of the music ecosystem and generating new work networks and important connections between music professionals.
GERMANY | JAZZAHEAD ! | Bremen, April 23–27, 2025.
Jazzahead! is the unmissable event for the international jazz industry and the meeting place for contemporary jazz from Europe and around the world. It is the world’s largest event, bringing together all the key players in the scene (musicians, record labels, agencies, festival organizers, bookers, and media representatives). More than 3,000 delegates from 60 countries participate in Jazzahead! annually.
COLOMBIA | BIME BOGOTÁ | BOGOTÁ, May 6-9, 2025.
Registration is open until January 27, 2025. BIME, the international music industry event held in Bilbao since 2013, is celebrating its third edition in Bogotá, following the successful 2024 edition. BIME thus reinforces its commitment to reflecting on the future of the sector and establishing alternative routes in the music industry that facilitate and multiply artistic and professional flows between Latin America, the United States, and Europe. Sounds from Spain will be present for the third time at the event, which will be held from May 6 to 9, 2025.
ICEX UNITED STATES | LAMC IN PERSON | NEW YORK, July 8–12, 2025.
Entries scheduled for January 20, 2025. The world’s leading independent Latin music festival, held in New York, returns in 2025. The in-person edition will take place from July 8 to 12, 2025. Sounds from Spain will be present for the eighth consecutive year.
GERMANY | REEPERBAHN | HAMBURG, September 24-27, 2025.
Entries scheduled for April 2025. The Reeperbahn Festival is Europe’s largest venue festival and the largest European platform for international pop culture and the music industry since 2006. It is both a stage for international talent and a forum for discussion on current developments in the global music industry.
PORTUGAL | MIL | LISBON, October 1-3, 2025.
The MIL Festival is an international festival and gathering aimed at promoting popular and contemporary music from Portuguese-speaking countries, with the goal of increasing international awareness and recognition. Focusing specifically on the Lusophonic music market, MIL aims to be a platform for international exchange, comprised of two types of programs: the PRO program, reserved for national and international music industry professionals, and the ARTISTIC PROGRAM, open to the general public, which consolidates the live music component of the festival by combining Portuguese-speaking artists with their international counterparts.
FINLAND | WOMEX | TAMPERE, October 22–26, 2025.
Call for applications scheduled for March 2025. Deadline for submitting artistic proposals from February 2025. WOMEX is the most internationally renowned professional event for the world music industry, annually bringing together more than 2,500 delegates from 80 countries in a market with more than 650 exhibiting companies. ICEX-Sounds from Spain will organize the collective participation of companies in the market and support concerts by Spanish bands (to be determined) as part of its promotional campaign. Bands eligible for Sounds from Spain support will be selected from among the Spanish artistic proposals selected by the trade fair organizers, both in the official section and at OffWomex. These bands must be represented by a Spanish company that is an exhibitor in the Sounds from Spain pavilion at WOMEX 2025.
SPAIN | BIME BILBAO , October 28-31, 2025.
Call for applications scheduled for June 2025. BIME, a festival and conference for music and technology, which celebrated its twelfth edition in October 2024, features more than 3,000 accredited professionals from around the world and a total of 1,500 companies each year.
CANADA | WORLD & M POUR MONTREAL | MONTREAL, November 18-22, 2025.
Call for entries scheduled for April 2025. Sounds from Spain will be present jointly at the two most important music events in Canada. M pour Montreal – November 19-22. Its work over 18 editions has been to contribute to the promotion and export of the selected artists, making its showcase program a unique opportunity to introduce emerging bands to professionals from Canada, the United States, and 20 other countries that attend the festival annually.
Mundial Montreal – November 18-21. This boutique event brings together talents and sounds from around the world to showcase them to world music industry professionals primarily from Canada and the US.
CHILE | FLUVIAL | VALDIVIA, December 10-13, 2025.
Call for applications scheduled for the first week of June 2025. Fluvial is a meeting designed to promote the development of the Chilean music industry globally, featuring a gathering of representatives from many countries. It is an international event that serves as a showcase for talent and accelerates access to global professional networks, facilitating business opportunities and cultural cooperation alliances.
