The Ministry of Culture launches a new line of aid to strengthen live music venues

The Ministry of Culture has launched a new funding program aimed at strengthening the role of live music venues as key spaces within the cultural ecosystem. With a budget of one million euros, the initiative seeks to improve infrastructure, promote digitalization, and foster the sustainability and diversity of live music throughout the country.

The Ministry of Culture has announced a new €1 million grant program   for  live music venues , aimed at improving their  equipment, infrastructure, digitalization, and sustainability . The call for proposals, presented on  January 14, 2026 ,  by Minister  Ernest Urtasun  in Madrid, will be managed by the Center for the Coordination of Cultural Industries and will award grants of between  €8,000 and €50,000  per venue on a competitive basis.

The aim is  to reinforce the role of venues as key cultural spaces , improve the audience experience, promote new business models, encourage accessibility and support  emerging artists , contributing to a more diverse and decentralized music scene   throughout the territory.

These grants are in addition to other initiatives already underway: the  Network of Venues , endowed with  600,000 euros in 2026  to support the stable programming of at least 40 venues, and the  Girando Por Salas program , focused on emerging artists, whose budget was increased to  one million euros  and which maintains concerts scheduled until May 2026.
