The 37th edition of the Vic Live Music Market opens with Rocío Márquez and the Catalan premiere of Himno Vertical.

The Vic Live Music Market (MMVV) opened its 37th edition with an evening marked by artistic diversity and innovation: Rocío Márquez kicked things off by performing Himno Vertical for the first time in Catalonia, in front of a packed Teatre Ramon Montanyà, giving way to several days of live music, premieres, and reflection on the sector.

The latest edition of MMVV, under the artistic direction of Joan Rial, Jordi Casadesús, and Rubèn Pujol, will take place from September 17th to 21st, with more than seventy concerts, nearly forty premieres, and a clear focus on the professionalization of the music industry. In addition to the concerts, the program includes professional activities, debates, meetings, and the presentation of a protocol guide to combating gender-based and LGBTI-phobic violence in the performing arts, as part of a commitment to safer and more equitable environments in live music.

Singer Rocío Márquez, accompanied by guitarist Pedro Rojas, presented Himno Vertical in a reduced format, in a performance that blended flamenco, classical music, and contemporary experimental atmospheres. It was the central event of the opening, which also brought together authorities such as the Regional Minister of Culture of the Generalitat (Catalan Government), Sònia Hernández, and the Mayor of Vic, Albert Castells.
